"Fallon Around" - Day 1-2 of Behind-the-Scenes at the Hilbert Circle Theatre

Tuesday, January 24, 2012 by Jessica Di Santo
Here we go.

Preparations for Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis are in full swing. Roadways are closed off.  Massive tents have been erected all around town.  The two football teams have been selected.  And Jimmy Fallon gave Indianapolis a shout-out on his show (come on Indiana - submit a video!).

And speaking of the Jimmy Fallon Show, we are proud to be a part of the preparation madness.

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has moved its performances to Clowes Memorial Hall this weekend in order for the Hilbert to be transformed into Jimmy's home away from home.  I can only tell this transformation story in pictures:
Seats ripped out
Seats need to come out to make room for a stage extension...

More seats gone
...and for the television cameras...
dress circle platform
...and for more cameras (I think?) in our second floor dress circle section.

And as for the Hilbert Circle Theatre stage, a bazillion stagehands from all over the region have joined our crew of five (Quentin Quinn, Mike Harmeson, Ken Bandy, Steve Martin and Alan Alford) to transform our beloved space into a place for a national TV program.  This is amazing work -- and it's only day 2.

Lots of equipment!
The Jimmy Fallon Show!

We're definitely not fooling around with this stage setup.  We're Fallon around!  Welcome Jimmy Fallon to the Hilbert Circle Theatre, home of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.

More photos and posts this week!
